What Does It All Mean?

("I’m only human, and want to let off a little steam. It does help to cope with reality." To my critics I say, “Sock it to me")
What does it all mean?
Engaged in informal conversation, with friends who dropped by to visit, we may be discussing the latest sports results, then our conversation turns to politics, after criticizing a few politicians we go from talking about the war in Iraq, to the unrest in the Middle East. From all of us, come different views, on how we would resolve these issues. As our conversation continues, there always seems to be one in every crowd, who will take the easy way out. With a very common, phrase “According to the Bible". Yes, it seems when there appears to be no answers to all the corruption, conflict, and chaos in the world, we all turn to a higher power we believe has all the answers.
Of course, there is no problem with turning to God, for help. In fact, we cannot solve any of our problems, without the help of God. However, is it help for our world, we are truly looking for? Do we really care about what is going on in the world? We view conditions of our sick planet at least 30 to 60 minutes a day, on news broadcast, from reporters all over the world. All of the news media in our country, have high ratings, they draw a large audience. Are we truly touched by what we see? Going from a blood shed seen of a battle with dead bodies laying in the streets, to a commercial break with a young girl, with a gleaming smile, advertising crest strips, for a brighter smile. Are these commercials affective on an audience, after reviewing such a tragic scene?
Sorry to say, yes! They are!The companies, who promote these products, know the psychology of the division of their audience. The ones, who will throw their beer bottles at the television screen, are few. However, targeted are the individuals who have money to through away on such foolishness. For the majority of viewers, are concerned more about their smiles, then the innocent lives being lost every day.
All of our well respected, and responsible citizens, must be well informed on the condition of our world, when they meet that same evening, with other prominent citizens in their community.
They must be capable of discussing their concern of our latest casualties in our most resent war, where so many of our young, brave men, and women, are dying for us. No sorrow they are conveying, showing their deepest concerns, however prevented them from putting on their crest strips, and practicing those beautiful smiles, in front of the mirror, in the privacy of their bathroom, before leaving their comfortable homes. Because they new through all their sorrow, they would have an opportunity to reveal that bright, gleaming smile of theirs, that means so much to them.
Americans have always believed we are a nation, united under God. There are no doubts by the majority of Americans, the early settlers and pioneers in our country were lead by God. The real men and women, that made a difference knew, to follow God, was not an easy task. However today going to church once a week, giving money we do not need in the collection box, maybe even singing a hymn, then leaving with the thought, “if there is a heaven, I will certainly be there for I have done my part."
Give me a break! “Do these self-righteous egotists truly believe they stand a chance with the Lord?" If Jesus came back today and preached as he did two thousand years ago, (would we listen?) He would need a permit to speak in public, if the people would flock around him to listen, if he touched the people’s hearts (as he did then,) if he preached against a capitalistic society, if he preached, giving, sharing, loving, (as he did then.) He would need to stand before our judicial system. Pontius Pilot could find no fault in Jesus, when he stood before him. Today a team of psychiatrist would find him to be a mentally disturbed person. His preaching’s would express disapproval of our way of life. He would also call our political leaders, hypocrites, and sinners, (as he did then.) An order, issued by a judge, would confine him to a mental institution. Why do our politicians use the word God in their speeches? Some of them actually believe he is on their side. Even our president will proclaim he prays to the Lord for guidance. Surely, the Lord did not advice the president to initiate the war in Iraq. Was it the Lord’s advice to grant no pardons to anyone on death row, as governor of Texas? I believe Jesus, the same Lord our president claims he serves, preached forgiveness. Jesus also had rules, and laws for us to live by. However breaking one of his vital laws, did not necessarily imply capital punishment for the act. For forgiveness, was the main topic of the preaching of the Lord. Mortal man can forgive an act, against his or her person. However breaking God’s law, can only be forgiven by God, and the individual breaking the law, must be morally able of forgiving themselves… however, not given an opportunity to be forgiven, and pardoned for a capital offense, even the Lord claims he has no power to forgive. For the Lord often said, Our president is not an evil man, not even a bad man. For George Bush is a mortal man, trapped in the predicament we are all in. We have been at conflict with ourselves, as a people, since the beginning of time. Many criminals will justify their criminal acts, from their personal point of view. They believe they steal more honestly than a business executive will. One of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, defended capitalism by quoting “I do not care if my neighbor believes in 20 God’s, as long as he does no pick my pockets." It appears he had more faith in his money, than in his God, if he had a God, he believed in at all. Most Americans believe in one God, and a person with strong faith, in his, or her beliefs, although respecting the beliefs of their neighbor, who indeed has the right to believe in 20, or more God‘s, if he/she, so chooses. Debating the issue of God would be more important then debating the amount of currency in their bank account. Without critics, we would not be aware of our faults. We would all believe we are perfect. We would never learn, or improve. God has atheist, who disbelieve. However, his believers are composed of few critics Told of our faults is one thing. To know how our faults were instigated, is what is important, if are to help ourselves. If we rely on psychology to find the answers, we will only develop more faults to deal with. Situations in our personal lives are not solely responsible for our faults. The actions of others, their faults, have a tendency to develop and manifest on our nature. We are all victims of an imperfect world. There is no true definition for reality. Only a fool, with lack of moral principles, and feelings of conscientious responsibility, towards his/her neighbors, friends, and family, could justify, injustice. Accepting reality (as we know it,) for any reason other than survival, initiates all mental illness. For the mentally ill, living in society, are the individuals who have no difficulty, living, and adjusting quite well, to a quite disturbed society. “A conservative is a person who is as happy, as a pig in sh----and does not want anything to change, with the exception of his, or her, bank account to keep growing. and growing" Surely, we can be happy however, we must continue to feel, question, and search, for a better way of life. We are here, not for ourselves, it is our duty, and responsibility to improve, or to live, our lives, trying to make a wrong, right. In our hearts, not our minds, we naturally know right, from wrong. The courage to stand for what we believe in our hearts is truly a difficult task. We are a nation who has always believed in some sort of written rules, and laws, to live by. However, we must remember, the love we have experienced in our lives, did not come from any written work. It came from within. “Love is not a learned emotion it is the most precious, and valuable, trait, we possess.
“Love is the difficult realization that something other than oneself is real

Dave I have just finished reading this, I had saved it last year sometime. I love your thoughts please let off stem more often. Stuff like this needs to said. We do live in a world full of very egotisical people, who have forgotten to listen to their true selves and are content in living up to the jones. We feel peer pressure most when we are vunerable, most people never leave it and remain submissive to the call of commerce for the rest of their lives and call it "Retail Therapy". The sad thing is that they miss life and all the real beauty around. They do not realize that happiness comes from leading the right kind of life.
