The way I Relax

Sometimes I find relaxation by taking a walk down a country road. I let my mind wander through pleasant memories I’ve experienced through day-to-day activities.

Another way of relaxing is to put on an oldies c d and listen to the sounds of music while I lay down or stretch-out on my recliner.

I also enjoy sitting on my back deck and listening to the birds chirp. At night during week days I go to bed after the monolog of the Jay Leno show and sleep peacefully for seven or eight hours.

I didn’t always find it easy to relax in my younger days. I was troubled soul in search for a better tomorrow. When I got out of the service in 1969 I went straight to work however although working sometime 80 hours a week I was burdened by the condition of the world in those days.

Today I find relaxing much easier than in the days of yesterday. I suppose getting older also plays a major role in the way we relax for with age comes more serenity in our lives. With serenity comes peace of mind and with peace of mind we find tranquility in our lives.

The world has changed a lot through the past four decades changed for the better although we still have wars brewing in some parts of the world the world today is more refined than the days of yesterday.

The older I get the better I feel, perhaps not physical but mentally. I also have the Lord in my life today and with the Lord on my side, I can’t go wrong.

“I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity.” Albert Einstein
