The Son of God Resides

by David Tanguay

He was born in a manger - on a cold December day

As he lay sleeping - in a bed made of hay

This child would be reared - by the people of the land

For his life by his father - had been planned

He would comfort the oppressed - and cure the ill

His deeds would often send to the spine - a cold chill

The man I speak of was the son of God in the flesh

Sent to save souls - and to the heart refresh

I am the way, the truth and the life - he proclaimed

Through his father - “Jesus Christ” he was named

Crucified and died on the cross - for all of humanity

This day brought out the beginning - of Christianity

He reigns with his father - in heaven above

Together they bless the world - with an abundant of love

Love your neighbor as yourself - was his greatest command

To live by his rules would bring about - the holy land

The son of God walked about us - as an ordinary man

Through him all of life’s history - as we know it began

Dave Tanguay was born on November 8,1948 in Westbrook, Maine. The 10th. child of a family of eleven children. Served in Vietnam in the 60s, he became active with the youth movement of that day on completion of military duty. Now retired and living in Florida. (still believes in the young)

Jesus preached in the great temple, and only rich sons and strictly most wealthy others were allowed that extreme luxury, so it's a given that he wasn't likely ever born in a lowly manger.

In addition, NOBODY knows when Christ(Greek, 'Christos', for "chosen one") was born; founding Church fathers usurped December 25th from the Druids who celebrated an agricultural Holy-day on December 25th.

But, His message, one of loving one's enemies, was most splendid and is categorically IGNORED and disregarded by those who dare to call themselves " the faithful' or 'believers'.

He was a Jew, first and foremost, something else virtually ignored by those who call themselves, "Christians".

Celebrating his crucifixion and agony has allowed hatred and murder of Jews, for millennia; as Gandhi said,"I very much like your Christ, but do not at all like your Christians".
