“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” Henry David Thoreau
Those of us who seem to be alienated from the social class we may be in touch with are perhaps marching to the beat of a different drummer. To conform to the majority rather than be ourselves is a stigma in which we are all guilty of displaying in society.
We must unravel in our mind the mysteries we face in our everyday dealings with one another. Our minds can become a tangled mess when we face the world head on. There is much confusion and chaos in our lives as we live from day to day.
Peace of mind comes to those whom seek it. Living in a peaceful world can and does bring about peace of mind. Those living in today’s world have never experienced peace on earth in their lifetime. For we have always been in conflict with our neighbors who live in foreign countries.
Not only in times of war are we in a troubled state of mind but also in our fast paced world. The business community can also be fast paced as we live and compete with one another in our dealings amongst ourselves.
In my lifetime, I’ve noticed the world slow down some from a high-strung society living in a very competitive lifestyle to a more relaxed atmosphere. Yes, the world has slowed down in the past four decades.
We are not looking at ourselves as instruments of global achievements in which we are to win over our neighbor anymore. Love has found its way into our lives today we are more aware of ourselves as a God bearing soul than we ever have in the past.
I truly believe we as the human race will overcome all of our troubles and unite as one people all over the world.
“Even if we are spared destruction by war, our lives will have to change if we want to save life from self-destruction.” Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
