Christmas comes but Once a Year (Poem)

The joy of Christmas comes but once a year

It fills the season - with such a great deal of cheer

Merry Christmas we’re told - should not be spoken in public

For it offends the atheists - whom live in our republic

For God so loved the world - he gave his only begotten son

Through him all life as we know it - has now begun

To disbelieve in Jesus as Lord - and son of God as they do

Is their prerogative - they have their own point of view

However deprive us not - those who believe

The right to worship - come Christmas Eve

For there is a God - only a fool would deny

On the cross he gave us life - for us he would die

Christmas day is the day - in which we celebrate his birth

This day brought salvation - for all of us here on planet earth

So I say to those who do not believe - MERRY CHRISTMAS! To all

For you are the ones - to whom he answers the call

“What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.” Agnes M. Pharo
