What the World needs Now is Love

When I seen the writing assignment for this week “What does the world need” the first thing that came to mind was the song “What the World Needs Now Is Love" that was a hit in 1965.
"What the World Needs Now Is Love" is a 1965 popular song with lyrics by Hal David and music composed by Burt Bacharach. First recorded and made popular by Jackie DeShannon, it was released on April 15, 1965, on the Imperial label after a release on sister label Liberty records the previous month was canceled. The song reached number 7 on the US charts in May of that year.

When I told Jean what this weeks' assignment was, she started singing this song, too!
Truth is, I don't think we (as a nation, or a citizen of the World) need fiscal responsibility, accountability, or more laws to regulate our actions as much as we need love for our fellow humankind. I remember the song you quoted very well. I went around singing it from memory all day long. I thought it was perfect then. And it is still very good.
