The Truth shall set us Free

“Science cannot be stopped. Man will gather knowledge no matter what the consequences - and we cannot predict what they will be. Science will go on -- whether we are pessimistic, or are optimistic, as I am. I know that great, interesting, and valuable discoveries can be made and will be made... But I know also that still more interesting discoveries will be made that I have not the imagination to describe -- and I am awaiting them, full of curiosity and enthusiasm.” Linus Pauling

Science is a branch of knowledge that is overpowering in our quest as human beings to learn and discover more facts about our world. Surely, there is a God however; science can lead us closer to God as we uncover the mysteries of life and creation.

According to biblical philosophy, we the human race through Adam and Eve have been cast out from the Garden of Eden to struggle through life. We were cursed by our God to be put on our own and to endure the harsh realities of a barren world.

This description of biblical thought can and has been questioned by man throughout our history as a civilized creature here on earth.

The Garden of Eden has also been scientifically described in fact all the teachings of the bible has been challenged by scientific philosophy. Man with his inquisitive knack for knowledge seeks and inquires within the unanswered questions of life here on planet earth.

Our journey here on earth is to free ourselves from our tormenting neighbors who instill war on us all. Surely, scientific theory can and does help us understand human nature and tries to stop all violence in the world through negotiations with one another, by instilling peace and love as a primary course to follow and obey.

For the bible says we will know the truth and the truth shall set us free. We cannot find the truth in the bible although it has comforted many troubled souls in life, an individual with an open mind will challenge the written word in the bible.

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

“Those who dwell, as scientists or laymen, among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life.” Rachel Carson

The words in the Bible are truth, and do apply to today. Science will prove scripture correct, and already has in so many places. It isn't an either science or Bible, the two go hand in hand, and compliment one another, since God spoke the world into existence..... science that isn't correct contradicts the word of God. Intelligent Design is just that, God's scientific creations. That scripture from John "The truth will set you free" is absolutely correct.

What the bible says about heaven and hell I disagree with. I believe the fire in hell has been put out.

I believe the bible is a metaphor, and was never meant to be taken literally. I do think there's lots of wisdom in it, but I don't think it's the final word on life. I agree that the truth will set us free, David.
