The Pursuit of Happiness

Through the history of our challenging times, we have been in pursuit of happiness. In our declaration of independence inscribed in the written word is this excerpt “ We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
In this modern age of ours, we have all of the occurrences of our world brought to us in the privacy of our homes. Through the news media, informed of what is going on throughout the world we are.
Many psychiatrists believe an individual’s character and personality arrive from the home in which they are reared in; they believe a happy home produces a happy child and adult in later years. I for one strongly disagree with this evaluation of the psychic.
I believe the world is our home and in it comes the means of how we relate to one another. For in a larger sense we are all siblings and when our brother or sister comes into perilous times, we feel the pain they endure through their ordeal.
As we all as the human race evolve with the times into a more refined individual, we may find happiness in just being ourselves. Love is the key that unlocks the door to happiness.

I used to think the family environment was the deciding factor but I don't any more. I think it plays a role, though. I absolutely agree with you that love is the key that unlocks the door to happiness.Please log in to respond to this comment.True Jennifer the way we are raised can have a lot to do with our character, however I believe we inherit most of our traits from our parents.I also believe the condition of the world we live in has a lot to do with our lives.
