Dream on to a Better Tomorrow

“There will be no end to the troubles of states, or of humanity itself, till philosophers become kings in this world, or till those we now call kings and rulers really and truly become philosophers, and political power and philosophy thus come into the same hands.” Plato

This quote by Plato was intended for ancient times however we as a society here in the 21t. Century can also relate to this quote. For instead of kings that rule us we have politicians who try to behave like kings.

We need more dreamers or philosophers to lead us those who dare to seek out the unexplained. Not just, except life for what it is but rather dream of what it could be. To dream of a better tomorrow should be on the agenda of those who lead us.

Most of our politicians are vain and seek glory and fame they will do anything to win the vote of the ordinary citizens of the land. From their platforms come speeches of how they are going to help the common people and straighten out the state or country they reside in.

However, their promises fade with the times for they must adhere to the laws of the land and work within the political system. Of course, they must conform to the written law of the land however; change can only come about if they rebel against the injustices throughout the country.

A philosopher on the other hand will be more responsive to the rights and needs of the common people. For a philosopher has the wisdom to see within the soul of the people and serve their needs respectfully.

Philosophers dare to speak on behalf of the people and to their every need. Therefore, cast your vote for those who dream of a better tomorrow. Those who philosophies and are motivated by the needs of the people to serve us all as humanity intended.

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope someday you will join us, and the world will live as one.” John Lennon

There is a lot of truth in what you are saying but you also forgot to mention the most obvious problem we have in this country. We need a rich, strong leader who is financially independent so that he or she could actually run a fair campaign. If you don't owe anyone any favors, haven't collected any money, you can actually lead with your heart and a true business leader can weed out the waste, like he or she would do with his own business and get us back on track! Until this happens, I am sorry to say, there will never be a candidate that can actually examine the needs of all the people and then actually make those needs a reality!
