Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced” James Baldwin

When we come head on with complications, we can and should change an unpopular stance with what we consider a more favorable outcome. Yes we face many problems everyday in our lives some of them we cannot change however there are many problems we face that can be changed.

Our nation alone has many flaws in her establishment our founding fathers worked very diligently to provide us (the American people) with a more perfect way of life. Created to serve all people of our country regardless of race or nationality was our constitution.

True we as American citizens do have our rights and freedoms to live the life we choose providing we live under her laws. We must work alongside our laws to change what we believe should be changed.

Our constitution composed over 200 years ago; we were as citizens of this land set out to tame it from its barbarous nature. Humanity itself was evolving from an aggressive nature to a more refined nature we find ourselves in today; we must look forward to the world of tomorrow.

Change is the law of life we have and do change with the times. Society itself has and continues to change and evolve in time.

“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.” Thomas Jefferson

Those who criticize change in society are those whom threaten our existence as a civilize people. For change is a necessity if we are to prolong our existence here on earth, we must heed to the progression of life as we live from day to day.

Agree with the sentiments in your article, and millions of Americans also agree with you. Change is a delicate thing to propose in general, but like one of my most favorite proverbs declares, because it applies to so many kinds of change and "reconstruction" and "improvements"...."The Devil is in the details". There is also a new phrase that has arisen in popularity since you and I were young guys --- "unintended consequences". Whenever new ideas are implemented, there are always "unintended consequences", and they only lift their heads until after the blue ink is dried on the parchment of wonderful NEW CHANGE. I bring up these thoughts not to disagree that good change is helpful, but simply that we always need to be careful and thoughtful, because there is usually a boat load of emotion floating the boats of change.
