Freedom is not Free

Human history begins with man's act of disobedience which is at the very same time the beginning of his freedom and development of his reason.” Erich Fromm

According to the bible, Adam and Eve’s act of disobedience by eating from the forbidden tree, cast out from the Garden of Eden they were and left on their own. However, was this era of time the beginning of man’s freedom?

This act of disobedience left them to struggle through life and face head on the cruel realities of life. The devil supposedly told them by eating from the forbidden tree they would be like God.

Well through the centuries, we as human beings have acted out as gods we have proclaimed ourselves as kings and rulers of nations. However, we were never truly free here on earth our lives have been a constant search for the truth.

We have as human beings been involved in countless wars with one another, Wars we fought for territorial gains and for political and social reforms.

Freedom is still a distant dream in all of us for although we say we are free as a people living here in the USA we are constantly searching for answers to the unknown. A reason for living in a world filled with contradiction and controversy.

Yes man’s quest for true freedom i.e., to be free from fear and the unknown we are in a constant search as human beings for an explanation of life. This is our reason for living to find the truth embedded in our minds and souls.

Although well adjusted to our way of life are many who do not ask for an explanation of life they merely respond to the realistic facts of life. They accept life as it is and could care less about searching for answers to the unknown.

However those of us whom have inquisitive minds and go beyond the so called real world to seek out and find answers to life as it is and what it is coming to.

“We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” John F. Kennedy

Truth comes to the one who seeks and believes in truth. Living in freedom and believing in freedom and truth we learn to love life as a whole and understand things with our hearts instead of our heads.

To be truly free is to spiritually fly not walk. To spiritually fly is to believe in Love, truth and freedom and to create our own beliefs and never to succumb to obedience, control and liers in life. We are spiritual beings, living energy of love.

Love never places judgement on another for their beliefs in anything and love never controls life or is cruel to it in lies.

Awsome

I think it's true that nothing is free, because everything has a price, or a consequence. I suppose everybody's quest for freedom is different. I know for myself that I thought mine was for freedom from outside circumstances and people, but now I realize it's learning how to believe in myself and my self worth so that I can embrace life and people more fully. Thanks for your article, I enjoyed reading it.

Freedom does have different meanings for many. I feel we are truly blessed in this country with those freedoms that are important to me. Best of all, though, is the human mind for it is free to think what it wants without interference.

Freedom and truth are so important to us as Americans, and so we constantly seek them out, striving to find them in ourselves, in others. Also, we work hard to right the civil wrongs we see. But in the name of freedom and truth, some communications can get skewed. We judge or exclude because we often fear what we don't know, and that fear keeps us from real freedom. I really like the JFK quote you ended with, I think it fits perfectly.
