We Must Respect our Land

“Man has been endowed with reason, with the power to create, so that he can add to what he's been given. But up to now, he hasn't been a creator, only a destroyer. Forests keep disappearing, rivers dry up, wild life's become extinct, the climate's ruined and the land grows poorer and uglier every day.” [Uncle Vanya, 1897] Anton Chekhov

What man has taken from crude nature and transformed into magnificent material cities around the globe is indeed the work of a very creative creature.

However we must realize what we have taken from nature we must put back for we cannot keep taking from our earth all of her resources without adding our own replacement of material phenomena.

Yes as man creates, he must also cultivate, for we cannot keep taking from our mother earth without replenishing what we have taken from her. Our creator gave us a mind that separates us from all other forms of life here on earth.

For we are above all other forms of life, our creativity to construct our material world into wonders beyond imagination is a miracle in itself.

It’s not too late to plan for tomorrow, for tomorrow can be promising to all future generations. We must respect our planet earth and clean up our mess and rebuild, our infrastructure to meet today’s challenging world.

We must educate our young with the knowledge we acquired through the years. Teach them to respect our land and to treat it kindly. To clean up our waters, plant trees, and respect all of our material wonders.

“The future belongs to those who give the next generation reason for hope.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Your article is adding value - if we all do our bit - what a great place we will share with all around is. We should start with our youthb as you rightfully mentioned.

I also believe it's not too late, David. And awareness is really growing exponentially, I think.
