Another Look at Plymouth Rock

The history of our country can be very interesting and thought provoking. For how our nation came together after rebelling against the king of England and how our founding fathers laid down the foundation for a new beginning of freedom and democracy for all of humankind.
Our history books tell us about how the pilgrims landed here on Plymouth Rock in 1620
There is a passage in the bible that refers to Jesus speaking to his apostle Peter and saying these words.
Matthew 16:18
18 And I say to thee, thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Of course, what Jesus quoted so many years ago has nothing to do with the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock. However, I like to look upon the history of our country as people coming from all over the world and bringing all religions together as one people united as a whole.

Plymouth Rock
I like to believe that Jesus brought all religions together through him for I believe all religions originate from or relate to Christianity regardless of their beliefs or the way in which they worship. Yes a church that would preach love among all people of the world.
We as Americans living in America have made it quite clear to all of its citizens that we all have the right to worship as we choose. Whether we are Jewish, Muslim, Buddha or whatever religion we choose to believe and accept as our own, or whatever doctrine we choose to live by. I believe the Lord Jesus is the son of the one and only God. I also believe through him all religions are combined.
Therefore, let us reflect on Plymouth Rock as a stepping-stone for all human beings to come together in peace and harmony amongst ourselves. A threshold from antiquity to our present day, to share the principal beliefs of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness among all of us as the human race united as a whole.
“The true test of the American ideal is whether we're able to recognize our failings and then rise together to meet the challenges of our time. Whether we allow ourselves to be shaped by events and history, or whether we act to shape them.” Barack Obama

Sad that you did not mention the Thanksgiving feast, which the Pilgrims initiated the following year. But you are right, from these simple beginnings at Plymouth rock and survival through the oncoming winter, there arose a great nation: "That which shall be never was so fair."Please log in to respond to this comment.I have a Thanksgiving article submitted in SearchWarp Morten, True I should have mentioned our relationship with the American Indian.
