Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him. Martin Luther King Jr.
The above quote by M.L.K. Jr. says a lot about non-violent protest in our country or countries abroad. Countries in the Middle East are all awakening to a new movement the demonstrations are positive only the demonstrators must keep them peaceful.
We have a lot of evil right here in our own country let us become more civilized before we try to civilize other nations. Civility does not come with a price tag we cannot buy kindness and respect from others we must earn it through our relations with them.

Peaceful Demonstration
To win a war by overcoming an existing regime through violence is not a victory but rather a catastrophe. For lives were lost on both sides to resolve an issue. Meeting diplomatically with our foe should be the only way to come into common ground with one another.
If our politicians do not have enough love to compromise with disagreeing minds they should not be in power representing us as a people. It’s time our politicians back up what they preach they sound very good when they are running for office to win our support and vote. However once they get into office, they are at the corporate elite’s command.
The world has always looked at us Americans as a model (example) to strive for; however, in today’s world we Americans are loosing our stature as a role model to follow. The world does not have to be in the state it is in today if our politicians would do their job and serve the people who elected them.
People all over the world are yearning for a better life than what they have at present. They are longing for freedom and democracy the kind of freedom we as Americans have always known and lived with. However even we as a free people are looking beyond our constitutional freedoms and striving for a new and complete emancipation of man.
To ennoble ourselves to rise above the common barriers of our lives and become lifted to a degree of greatness within, we all as human beings are on a higher pedestal than other living creatures on our planet earth. We must see ourselves as Godlike creatures and not mere animals.
“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.” Albert Einstein

I hope people around the world take the Egyptian example to heart. Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Jennifer, yes we cannot accomplish anything constructively by using violence as a means of reaching our goals. Please log in to respond to this comment.
This is absolutely beautiful David. Wonderful presentation of words and I like the quotes from Martin Luther and Albert Einstein. Non-violence has to start from within, and first to be practiced in thought and then in action. Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting DM, yes peace must begin within. Please log in to respond to this comment.
hi david,
i am COUNTING on peace versus violence.
three kids in the military is very scary.
we are all children of God, or Allah, or Buddha, or whomever you choose to name the light we all aspire towards, and we should be able to talk our differences through. Should, but often don't. i pray that changes.

"If our politicians do not have enough love to compromise with disagreeing minds they should not be in power representing us as a people." Amen to that, David. The one reason that people around the world still deem America a role model may be that from the distance those people are convinced that Americans directly elect their political leaders, not knowing that American democracy is a web of schemes that make big-money corporations, congressional districts, and the electoral college the real choosers of America's president and Congress persons. ~mogama~Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Mogama, and for your input. Please log in to respond to this comment.
Yeah, David, I have trouble with that inner nonviolence thing. I'm a very non-voilent person outwardly, mainly because I fear trouble with the law and would hate to face the guilt of actually harming someone. However, inwardly, my rage against some individuals is almost unspeakable. And it's not limited to individuals. I also rage against companies like Google. Please log in to respond to this comment.
