“Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.” Winston Churchill
Whether we win or lose its how we play the game that matters. As we live from day to day, we are going to encounter many different situations along the way. When we meet with obstacles that are difficult to endure, failure may be the outcome.
We learn from our mistakes to be persistent and keep trying despite our failures we are bound to overcome our problems and reach success. If we keep our mental state engrossed with enthusiasm as we deal with the many obstacles, we face from day to day this positive attitude will overcome our fears.
It takes courage to meet our disappointments with a positive attitude and especially an enthusiastic state of mind.

We must put our heart and soul into whatever we do even if our job is sweeping the streets this job may not be glamorous in its style however, it can be made exciting if we alloy our enthusiasm to prevail.
Our expectation by those who love and reside with us is to see us rise from despair to being happy in our field of work whatever it may be. We need not hold stocks in the financial district of Wall Street to be happy in life.
Whether we work as a mechanic, carpenter, plumber, common laborer, or work in the public sector such as a politician, doctor, clergyman or woman, by putting vitality into our profession we cannot fail to succeed.
“I don't want to express alienation. It isn't what I feel. I'm interested in various kinds of passionate engagement. All my work says be serious, be passionate, wake up.” Susan Sontag

More commentsWe have to do things we're passionate about. Because we don't succeed otherwise. The difficulty for me is that often people advise me against doing what really moves me. I've had to learn to listen to myself first. Please log in to respond to this comment.Yes Jennifer, the secret is doing what you like. I think that most of us do what we do to the limits of our individual passions...which are at all different levels of development. Thanks Dave- interesting- Always- EllaPlease log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Ella, yes we all have our limits of passionPlease log in to respond to this comment.
Actually, when you are passionate about something, you never think about the money factor. If you do something with passion, the flow is right from the heart and the work is exemplary. Automatically, everything else takes care of itself once the passion gets converted into something constructive and productive. Thank you for your nice thoughts again.DMPlease log in to respond to this comment.Exactly DM, when your doing what you like money plays a very small role in your occupation. Please log in to respond to this comment.

David, I enjoyed reading this article (as usual). It brought to mind something my daddy said to me at the onset of my first job: "If you're getting paid to do a job, that job is worth giving 110%." To me giving 110% has to include passion. Thanks for writing this and sharing it with us! Only zombies live without passion, as human beings we desperately need to feel part of something. It's great if you can be passionate about the work you do, but if you can't, then be passionate about something else, like a hobby, but for your own state of health, get passionate about something for a life without passion is a life without meaning! Thank you David, nice article! :-)Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Tony and for your input. Please log in to respond to this comment.
David, this is a great article. You may think I'm just dreaming, but I can tell you back in the thirties, most people with a trade, gloried in the quality of their work. My Dad was a carpenter, brickmason and woodworker by trade. If his work was even the least bit under par, he would insist on re-doing it. And because of that attitude, his work was amazingly near perfect. Consequently he was in demand. Unfortunately, I did not get all of those genes. I try to do the best job I can, but it seems I fail much more than he did. Thanks for the goodarticle and thoughts. Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Joel, my father was also a very good worker more of a man than I'll ever be.Please log in to respond to this comment.
