And Then We Shall Find the Way

"Determine the thing that can and shall be done, and then we shall find the way" Abraham Lincoln
Determining the ordeal we are about to encounter after examining the factors which need to be altered or removed. The next step is to find the way to accomplish our task. e.g. to make changes in our political system we must first see what needs to be done then finding the means through our constitution to make the changes necessary.
Our constitution was and is indeed a very well written doctrine in which we live by, our founding fathers worked very diligently to bring us as a free people these rules to live by. One of our founding fathers Thomas Jefferson could see into the future when man's mind would advance to the point where our constitution would be in question. Jefferson provided the following excerpt to make this point.
"I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors." Thomas Jefferson
In the beginning of our role as American citizens, we were a barbarous people by our nature. Survival of the fittest was a law we lived by as a people. We were a people molded by our means of living as an aggressive breed of humanity.
Our landscape was barren and in need of cultivation, it took hard working men and women to bring our land into fruition. Our capitalistic way of making a living led us to extreme measures by living within our laws we were able to manipulate the rules to suit our own means.
The freedoms of living by our own characters i.e. some of us were devils in our way of living by our laws. Although being refined in our outward appearances we found our lives driven by our own souls to win. Yes to win was the name of the game we played with one another, a battle of good and evil or the Lord and the devil working side by side.

The end of the 20th century brought an end to evil here in our country and throughout the world. We are living in a new world order free of evil, the oncoming generation of peace seeking young, idealistic men and women are about to overpower our world with their new and creative ideals of how we are to live our lives.

Yes, the world of tomorrow is here today as we eliminate the flaws we have always lived by in the past then we shall see our new world order take effect.
"Experience is how life catches up with us and teaches us to love and forgive each other." Judy Collins

Interesting article although our views are different. Its nice to be able to disagree without being disagreeable. I do believe there is a heaven and there is a hell and our battles are spiritual in nature, evil in full force. Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting LindaPlease log in to respond to this comment.
Wisdom is a tool to be used by those who have the wisdom to use it. I fear we have not reached that level of wisdom yet. What I like about you is that you keep on trying. Thank you. Please log in to respond to this comment.I'm not sure I follow you David, all I know is we are living in an entirely new world today. And I don't believe the devil is still among us.Please log in to respond to this comment.

I am not sure we were as wild and aggressive just over two hundred years ago. We can feel like we are more sensitive and enlightened now, but it still is just over 200 years. We can be deceived that our technology makes us more enlightened. I know what you are saying, but I am not sure that the constitution needs to be changed just because of the "little boy...little coat" analogy. I think that apart from hunting, the citizen of 200 years ago led a quiet, predictable slow paced, civilized life. And the citizen of today, while having plastic, and slick technology all around him lives in a fast paced, wacked out world, with relentless noise. I am not sure this leads us to a "new man". Thanks for your article. It made me think. Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting ChristoferPlease log in to respond to this comment.
