"We cannot hold a torch to light another's path without brightening our own." Ben Sweetland

When we try to help someone get throuh a difficult time in his or her lives, not only are we helping them but we are also helping ourselves. For an act of kindness on our part benefits, not only those who we set out to help but also helps us out a great deal.

Yes when we show someone the proper path to follow, we are indeed brightening the road we also follow. To set an example for others to follow should be our goal. We all need help to cope with life by helping others find the proper path to follow we are indeed helping ourselves.

Our walk through life can be hazardous if we walk blindly we must open our eyes and walk in the light we have chosen to pursue.

The Lord shines his light for all to follow with the Lord on our side we walk along the proper path of righteousness and love. Therefore, let your light shine brightly for others to follow. Lead the way to fulfillment in our lives by letting our light shine for everyone to see.

"To be able to lead others, a man must be willing to go forward alone." Harry Truman

Great stuff, as usual. The world would be a much better place if what you preach were being practiced.

The problem is as I see it, is that the good word of which you speak has been bastardized to encompass greed through the utilization of fear, starting with the rantings of televangelists such as Pat Robertson and Billy Graham who's only goal was to enrich themselves and their empires at the expense of those who truly sought redemption.

That is what is inherently dangerous about the teaching of an outcome based existence, and is too easy to take advantage of those who are willing to blindly follow to achieve this goal.

I'm telling you, David, this talk of the Light is pure Quaker thought. However, we believe the Light is within- the same Light that was in Christ and is in every man. The Light that is God
