When You Died on the Cross

You stood by me - when I took a stand
I was a rebel to the established land
You picked me up when I fell to the ground
You gave me strength - and help me rebound
Although I had friends - none as true as you
For you carried me along - and let me see things through
The good and the bad all gathered and clashing about
The fighting prolonging fiercely - day in day out
Ending in a peaceful turnout - just as you planned
The whole world now - was at your command
Guide us dear Lord - in a new direction with peace
Let all the fighting and squabbling among us cease
Therefore, we may look to tomorrow - and begin to rebuild
All of our dreams - will finally be fulfilled
Thank you Lord - for helping to show us the way
Your love has opened to us - a brand new day
The dream all began - when you died on the cross
Your love was true - you delivered and came across
Easter Sunday is recognized as the day you resurrected
Insuring us all - through you - we are protected
