" Rebellion against tyrants is obedience to God." Benjamin Franklin
We here in America are a people who live under a democracy. We elect our officials to represent us as a people. However, the corporate world has the politicians hands tied.
The CEO's of big business has the power over the people. They decide what the prices of gas at the pumps are going to run the people. In addition, the basic needs of the people are all in the hands of these business leaders.
Every election year it's the same old story politicians promising change however once elected there is nothing they can do to change the system. For it is controlled not by the people but by these cooperate giants.
These corporate leaders are actually tyrants in control of our lives it is our duty as a free people to rebel against those responsible for all the unrest and turmoil in congress.
Our constitution gives these corporate leaders power over us. It's time we as a people amend the constitution to meet the realities of today's world. Our constitution has served us well in the past however it is time for change.
Our leaders should all congregate democrats and republicans as they (our founding fathers) have over two hundred years ago. Yes, it is time for a change in the way we run our country. A time for us to all unite as we did after winning our independence over Great Britain.
We must now win our independence over big business. When we can say once more, "We the People" Rule.

Top-level comments on this article: (9 total)I agree with you David,If we would stop pointing fingers at individuals and claiming they have all the power, than maybe we could see it is time for us to stop allowing the corporate giants to make our decisions for us. Well put.Blessings,MichellePlease log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Michelle. Yes the politicians have very little authority in their decision making, it's big business that rules. Please log in to respond to this comment.

riveting stuff, but how can individuals take on corporate giants and nations when everyone is too frightened to act. Unfortunately big business has lead to the planet being as advanced as it is, despite ruining human civil liberties in some nations. Please log in to respond to this comment.Well James, I don't believe the people are too frightened but rather too indifferent to act or take a stand. Well written article. We need to remove all blinkers. "We the people" has become an anachronism. "We the people" need to reclaim power from big business. America needs to return to the age of the "untouchables" during which all manner of activities against the law and the constitution was brought to an immediate accounting, regardless of who was involved. All other nations too need to follow suit. However, so long as there is one individual that can be "bought", big business will continue to rule. Regaining freedom requires a degree of integrity I am not sure we will ever find again! God help us all! Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Olufemi. I haven't given up hope I believe someday we may reach true freedom throughout the world. Please log in to respond to this comment.
Yours is a tall call that most Americans will find idealistic or unrealistic, though very necessary. Thanks, David, for the passionate voice that echoes through this article. ~mogama~Please log in to respond to this comment.Yes Mogama, I have been portrayed as an idealist at times. However I believe idealism is the only true reality. "thanks for commenting"Please log in to respond to this comment. If only we had the courage to simplify our lives, big business would go away. Meditation and silent prayer cost nothing, they calm the mind, and the pursuits of pleasure reduce. If only we had the courage . . .
Thanks for a great article. .............ePlease log in to respond to this comment. How true e, if we only had the courage to be ourselves not someone we want the world to see but the real me and you. People find it so hard to be themselves. Please log in to respond to this comment.
Thank you for this article David. It is so true... The sadest thing to me is that people don't always seem aware of this, they like their golden cage and think they are free just because they can buy things they like and entertain themselves.
Modern slavery is pretty dangerous. The slaves feel free because of their houses and credit cards... sigh.
I miss real freedom.
LauraPlease log in to respond to this comment.Yes Laura, we have never lived in true freedom.
