Doomsday, Judgment day, or Whatever

Doomsday, Judgment day, or whatever one wishes to call it, supposedly the end of the world. How long will the human race survive on this planet we call Earth?
Will there be a final judgment when God chooses who will live on in heaven and who will be cast into the fires of hell?
I'm not much of a bible-reading person perhaps some who do read the bible and believe in a judgment day are telling people that the signs are all here. Earthquakes, floods, pestilence all what was predicted in the bible are happening in this very day.
Some beliefs of mine are as I see them facts of life. As far as our course here on earth goes, I don't know how or rather what the future has in store for us.
If I were a man in power, i.e. one who serves in the nature of leadership such as politics or what have you. I would concentrate my attention on this world of ours we all live on rather than trying to reach other planets.
We have enough problems keeping this world intact without bringing our troubles to other unknown worlds.
We must learn to live with ourselves in peace and love. When we conquer this factor in life and live harmoniously as a united people, then we can move on in building our lives in a more positive manner.
"To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly." Henry Bergson
Yes, the greatest lesson one man or woman can learn is how to live with one another as brothers and sisters, and not as enemies.
This is what our Lord tried to teach us to love one another and this is the reason he died on the cross, so that all dreams could come true.

hi david,i agree with everything you said.monies are being misappropriated to scientists figuring out why a fly dies out, or what's at the bottom of the ocean, or on the moon.all those billions of dollars could better be spent on homelessness and health care and subsidizing money to those who need it.one day, maybe somone will figure this out.thanks for sharing,my best, suePlease log in to respond to this comment.Yeah Susan, especially with the earthquake in Haiti, Obama is asking for $35 billion dollars for the war effort. I say end this foolish war not prolong it. take care of those who need help not buy more bombs to kill people. Please log in to respond to this comment.
Perhaps the reason we keep going out into space is so we don't have to concentrate on the problems here? I don't like it, yet I can't think of any other reason. And yes, we need to spend the money we have (well, we don't really have any, but you know what I mean) on what can benefit society as a whole. Well done. Please log in to respond to this comment.
Yeah Mike, there is still a lot of work to be done right here on our own planet. If we don't take care of our planet earth we won't have a planet to take off from in the future. "thanks for commenting"Please log in to respond to this comment.
