The Birth and The Mission (Poem)

In a trough with a mattress of hay&nb
sp;
The little Lord Jesus did lay
The little Lord Jesus did lay
The cattle and oxen to keep him warm
This child Jesus was sent to reform
This child Jesus was sent to reform
He knew his mission was to save souls
For his father sent him to perform these goals
For his father sent him to perform these goals
For three years, he preached the word of God
Many disbelieved in him - and called him a fraud
Many disbelieved in him - and called him a fraud
Although he performed miracles before their very eyes
They still did not believe - and proclaimed he told lies
They still did not believe - and proclaimed he told lies
He was sentenced to death - by the law of his land
The way his father in heaven - had it all planned
The way his father in heaven - had it all planned
Crucified and nailed to the cross - for all of our sins
So to the world - a new way of life for us all begins
So to the world - a new way of life for us all begins
We celebrate the day of his birth - once a year
So that one day- he may just happen to appear
So that one day- he may just happen to appear
A phrase we are all familiar with to honor him
Peace on earth - and good will toward men
Peace on earth - and good will toward men
