As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. John F. Kennedy
As we live, day-by-day few of us take the time to show gratitude for all the marvels that surround us. Those of us whom respect and show appreciation for our blessings often find it hard to live by what we reap.
"Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort." Franklin D. Roosevelt
Whether one has religion to live by or simply living by moral and ethical standards the needs of our neighbor as well as our own needs we must meet in harmony. If we live comfortably why then should we care how our neighbor lives?
Our fellow man or woman is an extension of ourselves God created them just as he created us. When our neighbor hungers so should we not only are, we created equal under the Declaration of Independence we live by but we are created equal under the eyes of God as well.
Ever since the beginning of time, we as the human race have been in conflict with one another. It seems as though we cannot live together in peace and love. World War I was supposed to be "the war to end all wars" however in our country alone after World War I, came World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, when will it ever end? The end to bloodshed, poverty and hate is the goal of all of humankind.
Hollywood continues to bring us movies jam-packed with violence how are we to escape it (violence) when it is so popular among the citizens of our society. I believe our rage extends from seeing life as it is deep down inside of all of us is a soul yearning for peace.
Helping Hands
We must give thanks to our God for giving us a life to live in the world in which he created. I believe there is a true purpose for us here on earth if we search, we can find a meaning in our lives through our fellow human beings.
"The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government." Thomas Jefferson

One of the hardest things I had to learn to do was to do something for someone else and then not talk about, but it was also the most rewarding.
