When Love Overcomes

As Jimi Hendrix, points out in the above quote "when the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace."

When the hearts of humankind have reached fulfillment with love for one another and not a need to rule over others in a political atmosphere, I believe we are on the verge of uniting as a people throughout the world.

As a baby boomer, I do remember the 60s quite well when the majority of young people (me included) were all for peace and love, from the hippies with their idealistic beliefs to the demonstrators demonstrating against war at that time.

When I look at world leaders today no matter what country they represent I see hope for future generations, yes I see a need to love and to be loved I look beyond the surface of a hard-core physical makeup to a sensitive loving and caring heart.

Peace will prevail when love overcomes our obsession for war. War is as old as time itself however we are evolving from a war oriented society to a more passive and refined people. When love rules our way of life we will see peace and unity in the worl It all begins with all of us as a people to unite as a whole people, as one people, all human beings under whatever God we choose to believe in. Yes when we unite as one with peace and love then we can accomplish any goal we set forth to concur amongst ourselves.

this was an excellent article.
 
i so wish there was peace. it's hard having one child in the military, and one going in, during wartimes. has anything really been accomplished through war and bloodshed and death, burns, maming, etc., that couldn't have been accomplished by peace talks?
 
oh, i believe in protecting ourselves, but it's always good to know just what you are protecting, and why!

Hello Susan, no I don't believe war accomplishes anything positive. I do hope we as the human race will sometimes find our way through love and not war. thank you for commenting
