I was watching the history channel Monday night there was an episode airing title " The Crumbling of America"
America's infrastructure is collapsing.Tens of thousands of bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete.

A third of the nation's highways are in poor or mediocre shape. Massively leaking water and sewage systems are creating health hazards and contaminating rivers and streams. Weakened and under-maintained levees and dams tower over communities and schools. And the power grid is increasingly maxed out, disrupting millions of lives and putting entire cities in the dark.
We must spend billions of dollars within the next few years to get our infrastructure into satisfactory condition.
Most of us do not worry about what could happen if major highways and bridges were to collapse or if dams would give out. These possibilities are quite evident when we look at the shape of our infrastructure today.
We must not wait until it's too late we must act today. I have nothing against space travel in fact I believe in it. However, we must first get our priorities straight if we don't take care of the planet we reside in we won't have a planet to blast off from in the near future.

Good article, it'd be nice to see more Americans interested in their nation and do more research on how we as a nation are failing and what solutions are out there.Please log in to respond to this comment.Yes Mike, I believe our young should be taught at an early age about the hazards in our country.
