Please Mr. Rain (poem)

This year we've had our share of rain here in northern Florida. However, last year we suffered a dry spell I wrote this poem in response to last year's drought

The rain came down with a beat of its own
Like music in the air for one who sits all alone

The long dismal drought coming to an end
The rain pours down your chin like a long lost friend

The grass turning green and beginning to grow
The wildlife are in glee all putting on a show

It's been a while since we've seen this liquid gold
A sight for sore eyes, a sight to behold

Come down precious rain continue to fall
I don't mind getting wet I love it all

You are a part of Mother Nature - we couldn't live without
Stay with us this time do not begin another drought

Rain clouds you hide the sun such a miraculous feat
After you've drenched us with rain, you begin your retreat

Yes, the sun will shine again only this time we cheer
Please Mr. Rain don't remain a stranger to us here

Hi David,

Very cleaver but remember we are just getting into the rainy season.

I know we need the rain but I sure wish it would rain at night so we could enjoy the sunshine during the day.

Thank you for commenting Iris, I'm not sure just where Parkland Fl. is. I'll look it up after I leave this comment, do you remember the drought last summer? yes we had enough rain for a while, I do want to see the sun more now.
