To Love And To Be Loved

It seems all of us at times in our lives take a personal journey into the unknown. We may ponder a while on the mysteries that are all around us, we wonder about God and an afterlife. There are still so many unsolved mysteries out there.

However living in the real world is a fact of life, we all as human beings find ourselves inhabiting our small portion of the world.

Our constitution proclaims all men are created equal yet our personalities and characters are quite different. Some of us are led to a life of crime while others are as different as night and day and may pursue a life in the service of the clergy.

Our constitution also claims we have the right to the pursuit of happiness surely; we as a people have had our happy days. I suppose some of us find happiness more easily than others.

"Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others." Buddha

In the work field, we find our means of livelihood to support ourselves and our family. Although we may not realize it, no matter what kind of work we do the outcome of our labor benefits others. If we work with the notion that we are benefiting others as well as ourselves, we may find some happiness within this idea.

Happiness it seems is the goal we all seek although some people live through many hardships in life the soul is enlightened by our actions, to love and to be love is probably where happiness lies in all of us.

" There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved." George Sand

hi david,

i haven't thought about it for some time, but i agree-" There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved."

when you are in love, and you love others, nothing material will change that, and lack of materials, will only make that love stronger, if it is true love.

thanks for sharing this,

my best,

sue

Right on David! Love may not 'conquer all' but life is much brighter when you love, and are loved. Nice article.
