A Prayer To My Lord (poem)

by David Tanguay
Lord I ask you to deliver me from evil
Let me witness a great s
ocial upheaval
Let me witness a great s
Where people in society turn to peace and love
Living by the rules of the man up above
Living by the rules of the man up above
Yes Lord I ask you to show us the light
Let every man and woman be delivered from fright
Let every man and woman be delivered from fright
The world and all its marvel is at our command
Delivered to us - by the grace of your hand
Delivered to us - by the grace of your hand
Goodness and mercy rule over injustice
For by your word we are committed to find justice
For by your word we are committed to find justice
Love your neighbor as yourself was your greatest command
Why is this rule so hard to understand?
Why is this rule so hard to understand?
I'm standing on the promises Lord - build a place for me
I come to you dear God - on bended knee
I come to you dear God - on bended knee

This prayer I offer - hear my words dear Lord
Upon your chariot - I will climb aboard
Upon your chariot - I will climb aboard

Dear David, what a heartfelt prayer. It reflects the simple faith and reliance we need toward God about every longing. I hear a grief over what is not happening yet so needed. Thank you for this. The photo is calming and comforting, too.
