"Thank goodness I was never sent to school; it would have rubbed off some of the originality" Beatrix Potter
I never finished my first year of high school, however my learning did not cease after leaving school. In fact, that's when my learning about life actually began. I worked on jobs to furnish me with money to equip me with the essentials needed in life such as food, shelter, clothing and so on.
I was far from being a realist i.e. only seeing life as it was and conforming to all of its madness. I kept searching for answers to the many questions asked by inquisitive philosophers down through the ages. I was awakened to many truths about life i.e. God and the devil, although my beliefs were challenged by the science of psychology.
Although as I was treated by psychiatrist with medications to deal with my mental condition. That did not change what was going on in the real world. Back in the early 70s life was fast paced I mean the whole world was moving so fast doomsday appeared to be closing in on us as a people.
Is it different today? Oh yes the world has changed or should I say the people in the world have changed. Life isn't as face paced as it use to be most people have taken the time to do a little soul searching.
For what good is it to wander through life without really knowing yourself? Once we find our true identity then we can face life and all its many challenges with a more positive outlook.

Hi David,Very thoughtful article. I think one of ti the most profound thing that was said to me was a few years ago. It was just a simple statement that a co-worker said, "Life is Hard." Indeed it is. I think one of the hardest things to learn is that there is so much we cannot controlKeep up the good and thoughtful articles...Fran LarsonPlease log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Fran, yes life is hard at times.
