On July 2, 1957 Elvis released his big hit "Let me be your teddy bear" here are the lyrics to the song.
Baby let me be
your lovin' Teddy Bear
Put a chain around my neck
and lead me anywhere
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
Your Teddy Bear
I don't wanna be a tiger
'Cause tigers play too rough
I don't wanna be a lion
'Cause lions ain't the kind you love enough
Just wanna be, your Teddy Bear
Put a chain around my neck
and lead me anywhere
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
Your Teddy Bear
Baby let me be, around you every night
Run your fingers through my hair
And cuddle me real tight
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
Your Teddy Bear Put a chain around my neck
and lead me anywhere
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
Your Teddy Bear
Baby let me be, around you every night
Run your fingers through my hair
And cuddle me real tight
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
I don't wanna be a tiger
'Cause tigers play too rough
I don't wanna be a lion
'Cause lions ain't the kind you love enough
Just wanna be, your teddy bear
Put a chain around my neck
and lead me anywhere
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
Your teddy bear
Oh let me be (oh let him be)
Your teddy bear

Hey, David, how ya doin' today? I am a fellow writer with you on Search Warp and I'm a fan of your writings. When I received this piece on Elvis... well, a little back ground first, I was born on January 8th, 1956 and always had a connection with this man because of our similar birth dates. I always looked up to him. I was proud that I was born on the same day as Elvis... still am! Back in the Beatles verses Elvis days, I was always standing outside in The Elvis Line to see his movie instead of the Beatles. The Beatles were good but come on!!! Elvis was the King of singing on its highest emotional and spiritual plane! Period! This man was not afraid of his sensitive nature when he sang his words. Thank-you for sharing your piece.Robin BrownPlease log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting Robin, yes Elvis was indeed the King of rockPlease log in to respond to this comment.
David, I don't know about anyone else, but I was singin the back-up...hahahahhaa always great to take a trip down memory lane...can you remember when he (Elvis) performed on the Ed Sullivan "Shew"? They wouldn't back the camera up to show him from his waist down, it was consider to graphic. hahaha look at todays TV, my how times have changed....Isn't it amazing. Loved the lyrics to the song, and it took me back to yesteryear....whatever happened to those good ole' days? I want them back!!! As usual, you put a smile on my face and I truly enjoyed the article..Keep writing my friend....Your fan and friend in Pen....Gary.Please log in to respond to this comment.Well Gary, I'm glad you enjoyed this article which brought you down memory lane. Yes I was going to a catholic school in the 50"s and the nuns would tell us not to listen to Elvis. Yes those were the days alright. Please log in to respond to this comment.
