The real world! That's all we hear all of our young lives why is it when we are young we seek a better way of living? I'm not referring to wealth or fame but rather to peace, love, generosity, compassion just to mention a few of the many virtues instilled in all of us.
We try to bring these qualities of life to the surface (into our way of life.) we want to reach out to our fellow human beings.
Yes, we have the freedom to study other cultures and civilizations. We are educated on a number of horrific occurrences such as holocaust, world wars, and many evil tyrants who tried to rule the world.
To be an American is to stand by her in troubled times, when we are awakened to the facts of life. This is when we see how the game of life is played and why we must do the accepted thing.
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity." Martin Luther King Jr.
We watch newscast on television reported to us by journalist who go out of their way to bring us the truth of what is happening in our country and all over the world. Nonetheless, what can we do to make our world a better place to live in?
It seems as though we have our hands tied when it comes to making changes in the world. No matter what we do during the course of a day we all have to fall back on our residence (where we live), our home is where we acquire all of our information through newspapers, television and radio.
Our means of existence such as our job where we earn a living we work to pay our bills and this task alone can take up most of our time. So I suppose as we mature in life we come to the realization that reality "as we know it" is a curse we must live with.
"To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly." Henry Bergson
