See The Tree (Poem)

See the tree that I planted with love

As she grows reaching out for the clouds up above

It was merely a small twig when I put it in the ground

I watched her grow and kept her save and sound

Like a child I had to nourish her with water and love

Until she was able - with nature to take hold of

See how tall she's grown through the years

I feel like a father who is about to shed tears

Of course she's only a tree - one of many

The years ahead of her are therefore plenty

I know a tree lives - by mother nature's laws

She grows regardless of all of her flaws

If she could speak would she thank me for the life I gave her?

No, for she is a part of mother nature - through her - life did occur

She will supply me with shade through the heat of the day

I will lay back and marvel and offer a prayer

Thank you dear God for this marvelous gift called a tree

I believe I'll give her a name - I'll call her Marie

Thank you for commenting Michelle, yes we seem to take all of God's wonders for granted.
