Down To The Wire

Election Day is drawing nearer I know whom I am going to vote for. For one thing, I consider myself a natural democrat. I come from a democratic family and always believed the Democratic Party was for ordinary hard working families. In addition, I always believed the Republican Party was for big business and the wealthy.
The only thing I don't like about Obama is his stand on abortion. I don't believe in any form of abortion and I believe it should be illegal. However, the abortion issue should rest in the conscience of the mother. Even if abortion were legal as it is, today it would be up to the pregnant mother to make conscientious decisions on saving the life of her unborn child.
I also believe that Obama will get us out of Iraq where we never should have been in the first place. I also believe in diplomacy we are all human and we shouldn't look at any one as being too evil to talk to.
I don't believe McCain can relate to foreign policy I believe he would get us into trouble in dealing with foreign affairs.
Therefore, come election day I will go out and cast my vote as I've always heard is the American way. I will vote for Obama I believe he will do the country more good than McCain would. I don't believe McCann is qualified to be commander in chief.
I know in our country of diversity among our citizens, as is the good old USA there will be those who disagree with me. However, I try to follow my heart in my decision-making, and my heart tells me to vote for Obama.

Those who profess in God know his commandments, Thou shall not kill. Those who know not God could care less. So if the majority profess mind you to be believers in Christ, by mouth, then why not deed? As believers and as you stated to consider the mothers "choice" without considering the unborn, diminishes respect for life. It all really gets down to who a person is and it does show in what they do regardless of what they say. Yet I do agree in all things it becomes an individual choice. I am reminded of Extreme makeover last night. White parents, Black boy, he had no one. They took him in and adopted him and his heart was so full of thankfulness. hey the message loud and clear. Best Wishes. Please log in to respond to this comment.I don't believe in abortion, it's not a choice it's a life. Please log in to respond to this comment.
A great and clearly set out article! Being pro-life should be more than just a stance on abortion - it should be an outlook that comes to play when considering other issues, such as the death penalty, unnecessary wars, limited access to healthcare etc. These issues lead to more death than the legality of abortion does, and for that reason, I would say that the policies of Obama are, in a very real sense, more pro-life than those of McCain.I don't believe McCain has set out any clear strategy for reducing the number of abortions whilst maintaining the safety of those that are performed (simply making abortion illegal does not stop abortions being performed - it just means that those that are performed are less safe and more likely to cost the woman's life as well as that of the fetus). Please log in to respond to this comment.Thank you for commenting BenPlease log in to respond to this comment.

Great article, David. I, too, am a democrat. I don't, however, agree with Obama on abortion and a few other issues. But,I do think we have made the right choice and hopefully things will improve over-all in the near future. That may be asking too much as we are in the worst state ever. Thanks for sharing, David. Have a good day.SandraPlease log in to respond to this comment.Yeah Sandra, things have got to get better and I believe Obama can get us back in the right direction. Please log in to respond to this comment.

Well, the election is over. As a Canadian watching from the outside, it will be interesting to see how Obama does at leading the country. Please log in to respond to this comment. My grandparents came from Canada, I am a full blooded French Canadian, I understand the language but have a hard time speaking it. As far as Obama leading the country anybody will be better than Bush in my opinion. Please log in to respond to this comment.
