Where Are We Going?

We as the human race are in the beginning of a new millennium. There are several theories relating to our destination or our future as a species here on Earth. In theology primarily there is a belief expressed in some Christian denominations, and literature , that there will be a Age or Paradise on Earth where "Christ will reign" prior to the final judgment and future eternal state, primarily derived from the book of Revelation 20: 1-6. Millennialism as such is a specific form of Millenniums

Among Christians who hold this belief, this is not the "end of the world", but the penultimate age, (one before last) prior to when it is believed that the world will end. Some believe that between the millennium and the final end of the world there will be a brief period to allow a final battle with Satan, or a time of the Anti-Christ, followed by the last judgment.

Although I was raised in a Christian home and with strong religious beliefs, My family seldom read the Bible we lived by the rules set forth by the government and we all worked at jobs to raise our families.

Of course, we were not blind to the conditions in society. We were aware of the greed, corruption, and chaos all around us. According to the book of revelations 20: 1-6 before the end of the world there will be a brief period to allow a final battle with Satan, or a time of the Anti Christ, followed by the last judgment.

A personal belief of mine is the battle with Satan has already been fought and Satan has been defeated. As far as the last judgment, again this is only a personal belief of mine I may be wrong there may be a judgment day however; I don’t believe there will be. Now some may say this is the view of the Anti Christ. Again, I believe in the Lord as the Son of God and although I believe, he has an equal an abundance of love for all of us regardless of our religion I don’t believe in all of what is written in the Bible. If I am wrong which I just may be, does that mean we go about our daily lives indifferent to what is happening in the world thinking only about ourselves and relying on the teachings of the Bible to deal with those whom are responsible for all the troubles occurring in the world?

I believe we are in the millennium were the peace and love that is professed in the Bible is here. The Lord is presiding over us what else do we need a false ideology to live by. We should begin living our lives with an appreciation of God’s creation and looking at each other with common views. We are all siblings of the same heavenly father. Our religions may hold different philosophies, however the foundations that all religions are built on is love.

Andre's quote is beautiful, and your article, well . . . Now That's What I'm Talkin' About!! Getting all the divisions behind us, agreeing to disagree on dogma but agreeing that how we treat each other is the proof of the pudding regarding where we are spirtually, is where we will make a difference in this world. Once we think that we have found the truth, the truth becomes a concept. Truth moves much to fast to capture, either by individuals or by a religion. (And that's the truth!) (LOL). Good article Dave. Thanks for taking the time to comment e, yeah it so difficult to understand why we can't all get along with each other. Take like our president if I was in is position just talking to a man like Osama Bin Laden I would get so involved in learning about his religion and his way of thinking I believe just listening to him I could understand where he is coming from and we could find common ground. For just the fact the two of us could take a break to share a loaf of bread or drink a glass of water together tells us both that we are of the same human family. If his God professes love than I'm sure my God and his are good buddies.
